This is a new thing, we will see if it becomes regular. I need somewhere to vent my frustrations on this lonely hockey void of a west coast.
Enough about me how about the B's dropping another game to the hated Habs. Bugger all. It didn't come as a great surprise but I didn't think I would be screaming for the goalie to be replaced under a minute into the game.
Auld was good when he first came in, he was under the hammer and produced during the Thomas groin injury, but since then he has been mediocre. Timmy has earned his place as an All Star and continues to help the B's but he couldn't stop the bleeding and gave up his share of goals against Montreal as well.
IF the bruins manage to hang on for a playoff position they had better hope that someone else takes down the habs.
Points tonight for number 12 Chuck Kobasew for stepping up for the young guys out on the ice. You don't see him fight much but he answered the call and ended up on top. Speaking of the young guys at least they had some energy, good pressure on the puck and a fair amount of up and at'em in the offensive zone.
Final thought on the night, the Bruins first goal. Kessel and Sturm combine on a play that was simple, fast, and effective. 2 on 1, Kessel moving in with speed, Sturm to his left. Kessel shoots hard and low. The puck rebounds to Sturm and he throws it in an empty net. Simple right? In a season where I have seen the Bruins go for the pass more times than they should I was glad to see Kessel go for the goal. If it had gone in great, it didn't. It didn't need to go in because by shooting it hard and low he increased the odds of it leading to an additional play that was capitalized on. That shot kept the B's in a game they had started to loose at the opening whistle for about 6 more minutes. 6 minutes more than the all to common "one pass to many" would have.
